DES MOINES, Iowa – The Illinois State men's tennis team came up short to Drake, 5-2, Sunday, Jan. 20, in Des Moines Iowa.
"I'm pretty impressed with the way we played tonight. We lost 5-2 but it could have been 4-3," head coach Mark Klysner said. "This being our first match and their fourth, I thought we played better than I would have anticipated. I'm excited to play tomorrow and get back at it."
After dropping three singles matches newcomer Aleksa Lazarevic picked up his first win with the Redbirds in a three-setter against Freddie Powell.
