NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State men's tennis team was edged out by Florida Gulf Coast in a tight match Saturday in Fort Myers, Florida.
The Redbirds dropped in the first two finished doubles competitions, giving Florida Gulf Coast a 1-0 lead as they entered singles play.
The Redbirds evenly matched up with the Eagles in singles, taking three wins each. Andreas Boers, Christopher Greve and Igor Kolaric each picked up a win for the Redbirds. Boers faced Marcelo Tebet in three singles and finished in two sets with a score of 7-6, 6-3.
