SAN DIEGO, Calif.-- Illinois State advances four as day one of the 67th ITA Collegiate Invitational concludes with a deep field of USC, UC-Riverside, Kennesaw State, University of San Diego, Utah State, and the University of Arizona.
In singles play, the Birds collected four wins as Tomas Valencia knocked off San Diego's Kasday in straight sets (6-4, 6-4) ISU's Caden Scarlett defeated UCR's Aarav Sane 7-5, 6-4, Valencia rounded out singles play after securing a 3-6, 7-6, 7-5 mark against Bradley from the University of Southern California.
In doubles play, Tom Bevan and Jett Leong battled Justin Lamy, Aarav Sane of University of California-Riverside but came up short as they fell by a 6-3 mark.
