NORMAL, Ill. – After facing a seven-point second-half deficit, the Illinois State men's basketball team rallied for its 10th-consecutive victory by beating Indiana State, 71-66, Wednesday night on Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena.
The Redbirds (17-4 overall) improved to 9-0 in the Missouri Valley Conference to match ISU's best start in league play and the program's most-consecutive conference wins. Illinois State's 1982-83 team also began 9-0 in the MVC before suffering a loss in game 10.
ISU additionally secured its 17th-straight victory at Redbird Arena dating back to last season which matches an arena record for consecutive wins, also achieved between the 1996-97 and 1997-98 seasons.
