NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois State men's golf team has been tabbed as the unanimous favorite to win the 2018 Missouri Valley Conference Men's Golf Championship. The tournament will wrap up a successful season for the Redbirds at the par-72, 7,242-yard Dalhousie Golf Club in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
The 54-hole tournament starts Monday, April 23, and concludes Tuesday, April 24. After placing second at last year's MVC Championships, the Redbirds are now unanimously voted to win the title according to a pre-championship poll of league coaches.
The Redbirds represent three of the nine 2018 MVC Golfer of the Year candidates with Zach Burry, David Perkins and Trent Wallace.
