IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Freshman Nicola Jansen won the 3,000-meter title, breaking the meet record in the event, and Bradley Track & Field set three school records during the team's first action in over a month at the Hawkeye Invitational Saturday afternoon.
Making her track debut for the Braves after earning Missouri Valley Conference Freshman of the Year honors in cross country, Jansen challenged the school record in the 3,000 set by Caitlin Busch in 2016. Jansen won the event by almost 50 seconds and topped the previous meet record by over 30 seconds, claiming the top spot in the field with a time of 9:26.
