Maggett, Redbird women roll past Evansville

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — The Illinois State women's basketball team shot 50 percent from the floor in the first half in racing to a 20-point halftime lead before defeating Evansville, 72-61, in a Missouri Valley Conference game on Sunday at Meeks Family Fieldhouse.

TeTe Maggett led all scorers with 26 points while also contributing six assists and three rebounds. Maggett was 9-of-9 from the free-throw line, marking the sixth straight game in which she's been perfect at the charity stripe.

Simone Goods added 16 points and five rebounds for the Redbirds, who evened their Missouri Valley Conference mark at 2-2 while improving to 9-6 overall.
