FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Redshirt senior Logan Calvin punched his ticket to the NCAA Track and Field Championships with an eighth-place finish in the men's shot put. Calvin tossed 19.63m (64-5) at the West Prelims to advance. He becomes the first Redbird to qualify for NCAA Championship meet in the shot put since Curt Jensen did so in 2014.
It was textbook for Riley Wells in the men's 800m, as he used a strong closing lap to advance to the quarterfinals on Friday. Wells' time of 1:47.82 was the fifth-fastest in the opening round.
