DES MOINES, Iowa — Drake took a one-point lead early in Tuesday night’s second half at the Knapp Center. Paris Lee said when that happened, it flipped a switch for Illinois State’s basketball team.
“We didn’t want to lose at all. That’s big when it comes down to the seniors,” said Lee. “We’ve been doing this for three years. You think any game we drop that’s our chance to win conference right there. We all came together.”
ISU put on a dominating second-half performance on both ends. Lee scored a career-high 26 points as the Redbirds held Drake to 18.
