ESTERO, Fla. – After a solid first year at Bradley landed him on the Missouri Valley Conference all-freshman team, Luuk van Bree seemed mired in the proverbial sophomore slump for most of the Braves’ first five games.
Until late in the team’s fifth game Tuesday.
Trailing Wofford by four points with 3:17 left, van Bree launched a 3-pointer from the right corner. Swish.
A minute later, following two defensive stops, the ball came van Bree’s way again, this time on the right wing. The shot found the bottom of the net once again.
For the Braves, behind nearly the entire game and down by 11 at halftime, it meant a lead they would not relinquish en route to a 70-62 win over Wofford.
