NORMAL, Ill. – A pair of all-around wins last weekend for Illinois State sophomore Angelica Labat resulted in her being named the Midwest Independent Conference Gymnast of the Week on Tuesday. The Gymnast of the Week honor is the third for Labat in her career and her eighth conference weekly honor overall.
Labat won the all-around in both meets last weekend for the Redbirds, who competed at the six-team GymQuarters Invitational on Friday and in a dual meet against MIC foe Lindenwood on Sunday. The Chesapeake, Va., native bested four other gymnasts to win the all-around competition at the GymQuarters Invitational with a score of 38.
