PEORIA, Ill. -- Junior outfielder Kelly Kapp (Freeburg, Ill./Gibault Catholic) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week after hitting .500 with two runs scored in two games at the Husky Classic in Seattle, Wash.
Kapp went 2-for-4 in each game with a run scored in both contests in the trip out west for Bradley Softball. Against Seattle, she scored a run in the first inning to give the Braves an early 1-0 lead and also had an eighth-inning single in an extra-inning setback to the Redhawks. Kapp had hits in each of her final two at bats to help highlight Bradley’s 7-6 comeback victory against Boise State after the Braves fell behind 6-0.
