NORMAL — Junior center David Ndiaye has been granted his release from Illinois State’s basketball team by head coach Dan Muller and intends to transfer elsewhere for his final season.
The 7-foot Ndiaye averaged 4.4 points and 4.0 rebounds in 18.5 minutes per game this past season, setting career highs with 13 points against Southern Illinois and 12 rebounds against Bradley. He missed the first 13 games with a stress fracture in his right foot.
There are no indications where Ndiaye plans to transfer. A native of Dakar, Senegal who came to Illinois State from the Windermere Prep School in Orlando, Fla.
