JuJu Redmond finding comfort zone as Illinois State women head to Carbondale to face Southern Illinois

As Illinois State junior JuJu Redmond has come to fret less about her mistakes, there have been less mistakes to fret about.

And not so coincidentally, Redmond’s production has spiked in the process.

“She is her toughest critic,” Redbird coach Kristen Gillespie said. “Her mind being freed up has allowed her to play more freely.”

Redmond has scored in double figures in five of her last six games to hike her season average to 8.8 entering Friday’s 6 p.m. Missouri Valley Conference game against Southern Illinois at the Banterra Center in Carbondale.

“With me, it’s pretty much confidence,” said Redmond, a transfer from Tallahassee Community College.
