ISU's Chastain to miss 4-6 weeks with broken hand

Illinois State head basketball coach Dan Muller said Tuesday that Chastain, a 6-foot-6 redshirt junior wing from LeRoy, will be out 4-6 weeks because of a broken right hand suffered during a Redbird practice session.

"He was taking a charge, fell back and smashed his hand on the ground," said Muller.

ISU's regular-season opener is five weeks from Wednesday, Nov. 6 against Belmont at Redbird Arena. Whether Chastain is available isn't known right now, but chances are he won't miss much, if any, game action.

"I have had guys with broken hands that once you're ready, you're ready," said Muller.
