NORMAL — In her second year on the job, Illinois State women’s basketball coach Kristen Gillespie has a better grasp on the significance of the ISU-Bradley rivalry.
“With the talk around the athletic department, you know this is a big game,” Gillespie said of Saturday’s 4 p.m. Missouri Valley Conference matchup against the Braves at Redbird Arena. “Every game is important, but within the rivalry this game means just a tad bit more.”
“It’s really big,” agreed ISU senior Viria Livingston. “It’s our rival so it’s a big game for us. We really want to win this game because we don’t want to lose.
