The adjustment period to six new players has taken on a new wrinkle for the Illinois State women’s basketball team.
The Redbirds, who split their first two games and face Eastern Michigan at 11 a.m. Saturday in Ypsilanti, Mich., will be without junior forward Megan Talbot for four to six weeks.
“Megan has a broken foot,” ISU coach Kristen Gillespie said. “We will play a little bit smaller and a little bit different.”
A 6-foot-2 junior, Talbot started 26 of 30 games last season and averaged 7.4 points and 5.6 rebounds. She played 21 minutes in a season-opening loss to Southern Illinois Edwardsville with the injury before an X-ray revealed a fracture.
