ISU women make noise in 5th straight victory

The Redbirds’ fifth straight win came in a late morning start before a crowd of 3,500 on Education Day and hiked ISU’s record to 6-4.

“I found myself yelling, and I didn’t even mean to yell,” said senior Simone Goods. “It was just what the crowd did and us playing so well together.”

Goods’ play was worth shouting about. The 6-foot-2 forward scored ISU’s first 12 points as the Redbirds zoomed out to a 12-4 advantage in the initial five minutes.

Saint Louis (4-7) quickly switched to a zone to combat Goods, who finished with a career-high 30 points.
