With a red-hot Butler University team next on the schedule, the Illinois State women’s basketball team is facing the loss of another key player.
Sophomore guard Paige Saylor will be sidelined for a month or more after suffering a broken hand in last Monday’s loss to Cleveland State.
“She was defending and jogging around the foul line to get to her man,” ISU coach Kristen Gillespie said. “Their post player raised her foot and hit Paige’s hand. It was totally a freak accident. It’s one of those things if you tried to do it (you couldn’t).”
That means the 1-3 Redbirds must face 4-0 Butler at 2 p.
