CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — The Illinois State women's track team won five of 17 events to surge from fourth place to claim the team title at the Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship on Sunday at the University of Northern Iowa.
The Redbirds scored 121 points to best Wichita State (111) and host Northern Iowa (86.83).
Sarah Mussallem took the 400-meter dash with a time of 54.86 seconds , Kelly McShea topped the field in the mile run in 4:52.89 while the 4x400 meter relay team of Allison Christiani, Amanda McClain, Ashleigh Wilson and Mussallem posted a time of 3:42.
