GREEN BAY, Wis. — Despite 13 kills from Juma Armando and 11 from Jaelyn Keene, Illinois State lost to Green Bay, 25-23, 25-19, 18-25, 26-24, in the second round of the National Invitational Volleyball Championship on Friday.
The Redbirds ended the season at 22-13 while the Phoenix advanced with a 17-15 mark to face the winner between TCU and North Texas.
Green Bay won despite behind outhit by its guest, .295 to .233. The Phoenix had four players with double-digit kills in Jessica Wolf (15), Lydia DeWeese (14), Taylor Wolf (13) and Roberta Todd (10).
"It felt like we waited too long to show up," said ISU coach Leah Johnson.
