NORMAL — Other than an Illinois State cheerleader taking a slide while waving the ISU flag leading the team onto the floor, there were few if any slips for the Redbird volleyball team on Friday night in a dominant 25-21, 25-13, 25-18 Missouri Valley Conference victory over Drake at Redbird Arena.
Seniors Ali Line and Lexi Varga, as well as sophomore Kaylee Martin, led an efficient ISU attack that pounded, tapped and tipped its way to 51 kills in paving the way for the Redbirds' ninth straight win.
"We hit .392 with less than five errors," said ISU coach Leah Johnson, admiring the post-game stat sheet.
