CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Illinois State track and field teams had a strong first day at the Virginia Challenge hosted by Virginia University in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Grace Beattie had a stellar day as she captured a personal-best time in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, running a time of 10:40.52. This is her second time in her career running the steeplechase. She ran a time of 10:48.52 at the Joe Walker Invitational earlier this spring. Ariel Michalek had a strong effort in the steeplechase as she ran a time of 10:36.
