NORMAL — The Illinois State football team is moving up, not just in division for Saturday’s game at FBS program Colorado State, but in elevation as well.
The Redbirds, ranked No. 15 in FCS, take a 2-0 record from the 869-foot elevation of Normal to 5,003 feet above sea level in Fort Collins, Col., for a 2 p.m. contest at Canvas Stadium.
“We did a little extra to try to get ready for it,” ISU coach Brock Spack said. “But there’s not much we can do about it.”
That “extra” meant more running for the Redbirds last week.
