Making his 33rd career start, Brees broke up two passes with jarring hits and intercepted a pass all in the final 10 minutes as ISU finished at 6-5 for the Redbirds’ ninth winning regular season in 10 years under Coach Brock Spack.
“It feels really good,” Brees said. “There’s no real sadness, right now at least. It feels good to end on a good note and have a good feeling coming out of here.”
