CHARLESTON — Illinois State football coach Brock Spack isn't about to disparage a victory, especially one over his former employer and Mid-America Classic heated rival Eastern Illinois.
Yet Spack, a former EIU assistant, is well aware his offense must soon discover how to better capitalize on its opportunities if the Redbirds are to be an FCS playoff team come November.
"Absolutely. No doubt," Spack said after ISU extracted no points from second-half possessions that started at the Redbird 48-yard line and the EIU 32 in a 21-3 triumph over the Panthers. "They know that. I know they don't feel good about everything, but we won the game.
