NORMAL — Three players scored 10 points each as Illinois State downed Tennessee State, 66-55, in a nonconference basketball game Tuesday night at Redbird Arena.
Deonte Hawkins, DeVaughn AKoon-Purcell and freshman Roland Griffin paced ISU (6-7) with 10 points each. MiKyle McIntosh and Tony Wills had nine points each, while Nick Banyard contributed eight points and a career-high 11 rebounds.
The Redbirds shot 46.8 percent from the field and went 13 of 16 at the line. ISU’s two leading scorers, Akoon-Purcell and Paris Lee, did not start for the first time this season. Lee played only three minutes and didn’t score.
