CONWAY, S.C. — Boise State took a 24-point halftime lead and cruised past Illinois State, 82-64, in a Puerto Rico Tip-Off Classic at Myrtle Beach semifinal game Friday at HTC Center.
ISU (1-2), which upset South Carolina on Thursday, shot 34.8 percent from the field and went 8 of 34 outside the arc while being outrebounded, 57-27. The Redbirds face Tulsa or Iowa State in the third-place game at 4 p.m. (CT) Sunday.
Keyshawn Evans scored 21 points to lead the Redbirds, while Phil Fayne added 13 points and Madison Williams 12. Milik Yarbrough, who scored 18 points against South Carolina, played only six minutes in the first half as ISU fell behind, 46-22.
