With quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo orchestrating the Panthers attack, Spack did not enjoy the view in a 57-24 loss in 2013.
While Garoppolo has long since moved on to the NFL, Spack still has reason to be wary of Eastern’s hurry-up, no-huddle attack in Saturday’s 6:30 p.m. renewal of the Mid-America Classic at Hancock Stadium.
“It’s a lot of 10 personnel, which is four wides (receivers),” Spack said. “A lot of people do it. We’ve been preparing for it during training camp. It will be no surprise to our defensive players.”
Redbird defenders, who allowed just 30 net yards of offense in a 46-0 season-opening win over Saint Xavier, have faced away from the offense in practice.
