MACOMB — With Nathan Knuffman poised to score Saturday's first points on a 25-yard field goal, Illinois State's Dalton Keene penetrated the middle of the Western Illinois line to block the attempt.
While the Leathernecks were denied three points, Western coach Charlie Fisher said his team felt the effects the rest of the Missouri Valley Football Conference game at Hanson Field.
"It changes the dynamic," Fisher said after ISU's 31-26 victory. "You're getting ready to score points. You get nothing and they get the ball. Those are big plays. It changes the energy on both sides of the field.
