CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - Texas A&M-Corpus Christi rode a 6-run eighth inning to a 10-7 win against visiting Bradley in the first game of the 2017 season Friday night at Chapman Field.
Bradley built a 6-1 lead through five innings behind starter Allan Beer, only to see the bullpen fail to hold the lead. After Beer allowed just the one run on six hits with three walks and four strikeouts in his 5.0 innings, three Bradley relievers combined to allow nine runs on seven hits with five walks in their combined 3.0 innings. The Braves still held a 7-4 lead heading into the home half of the eighth, but the Islanders scored five runs before recording an out.
