SAINT LOUIS — With leading scorer TeTe Maggett limited to 19 minutes of action, 13 below her average, due to an injury, the Illinois State women's basketball team fell to host Saint Louis, 61-56, on Sunday.
Maggett, who came in averaging a team-high 17.3 points, scored three on 1-of-9 shooting from the field, but had a team-high three steals. She left the game for good with 4:50 left in the third quarter. Junior Juliunn Redmond led the Redbirds with a season-high 23 points. Her previous high was 12.
The setback dropped ISU to 6-2 and ended a five-game winning streak which was part of the program's best start since 2007-08.
