Illinois State women's basketball throttles Chicago State

CHICAGO — The Illinois State women's basketball team enjoyed a 12-point halftime lead on its way to a 79-52 nonconference triumph over Chicago State on Sunday.

The Redbirds outscored the Cougars 27-9 in the third quarter and boosted their record to 6-4.

Elyce Knudsen topped ISU with 15 points. Nevaeh Thomas supplied 13 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman Doneelah Washington scored 14 points in just 13 minutes off the bench.

Maya Wong chipped in 10 points, Shannon Dowell nine points and five assists and Addison Martin seven rebounds and three steals.

ISU held a 55-39 rebounding margin.
