NORMAL – What’s the Illinois State women’s basketball team to do when its top two scorers aren’t producing at their usual levels?
Redbirds coach Kristen Gillespie was pleased to discover the answer was not panic Sunday at Redbird Arena.
Junior guard Paige Saylor matched her season high with 14 points and junior forward JuJu Redmond generated 10 of her 13 points in the fourth quarter to propel ISU to a 66-56 Missouri Valley Conference victory over Southern Illinois before a Senior Day crowd of 1,001.
“This was a big one for us. There was a lot on the line,” Gillespie said.
