CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — TeTe Maggett and Mary Crompton connected on late 3-pointers to force overtime and Lexy Koudelka and JuJu Redmond had big games off the bench Thursday as the Illinois State women's basketball team toppled Northern Iowa, 69-61, in Missouri Valley Conference play at McLeod Center.
ISU (15-9 overall) inched ahead of UNI into fourth place in the MVC standings while completing the regular season sweep. The Redbirds are 7-6 in league play and the Panthers 7-7.
ISU led 44-31 after a Lexi Wallen basket late in the third quarter, but UNI seized a 52-50 edge on a Bre Gunnels basket with 2:20 left in regulation.
