ST. LOUIS – For the third-straight year, the Illinois State Redbirds have been named the Missouri Valley Conference Track & Field/Cross Country Program of the Year.
Scoring is based on the teams finish at each Missouri Valley Conference Championship in cross country, indoor track & field and outdoor track & field (i.e., 1st=1 point, 2nd=2 points....10th=10 points) with the lowest total score for all six championships (3 men's and 3 women's) combined determining the award winner.
The 'Birds finished with a conference low 12 points after winning three MVC titles this year in men's cross country, women's indoor track & field and women's outdoor track & field.
