ST. THOMAS, Virgin Islands — Illinois State's basketball team couldn't execute again down the stretch Monday and it sent the Redbirds to their fourth straight defeat.
ISU missed a chance to take the lead in the final minute as Grand Canyon scored the last four points to earn a 68-63 victory over the Redbirds in the Paradise Jam's seventh-place game at the Sports and Fitness Center.
Zach Copeland led ISU (2-4), which lost all three of its games in the tournament, with 21 points to go with five rebounds and four assists. Dedric Boyd added 10 points.
