Illinois State Men’s Golf in Second Place After First Round of Fighting Irish Gridiron Golf Classic

NOTRE DAME, Ind. -The Illinois State men's golf team is tied for second place after the first round of play Sunday at Notre Dame's Fighting Irish Gridiron Golf Classic at the par-70, 6,810-yard Warren Golf Course in Notre Dame, Indiana. The Redbirds finished the round with a 2-over-par 282 and have three golfers currently in the top-15 on the individual leaderboard, including sophomore Trent Wallace, senior Christian Crabill, and freshman David Perkins.

Eastern Michigan leads the fifteen-team field, after finishing the round two strokes ahead of ISU with an even-par 280 and Texas El Paso is tied with the Redbirds with a 2-over-par 282.
