Abdullah posted six tackles and one and a half sacks as No. 19-ranked ISU held off Youngstown State for a 23-16 Missouri Valley Football Conference victory Saturday before a Hancock Stadium crowd of 6,381.
“It’s been seven long weeks. It felt great to be out there with my brothers,” said Abdullah, who had not played since suffering a knee injury in the Aug. 31 season opener. “I had a lot of fun today.”
“I think you saw it right away. He didn’t get a sack but he forced the quarterback to flush,” ISU coach Brock Spack said of Abdullah.
