NORMAL – Not only are shots starting to fall for the Illinois State basketball team, big shots are starting to fall.
ISU witnessed a late first half 16-point lead whittled to four twice in the second half but closed out a 77-67 Missouri Valley Conference victory over Belmont on Tuesday before a CEFCU Arena crowd of 2,860.

Belmont entered the game ranked 29th nationally in 3-point shooting percentage, while the Redbirds were 340th of 351 Division I teams. Yet ISU connected on two more 3-pointers (8-6) in two less attempts (24-22).
