NORMAL – Both Illinois State football coach Brock Spack and junior quarterback Tommy Rittenhouse believe Rittenhouse is better prepared to step in as the ISU starter than he was a year ago.
After first string quarterback Zack Annexstad suffered a knee injury late in last week’s win over Missouri State, Rittenhouse will likely get the chance to prove that Saturday when ISU takes on Murray State in an 11 a.m. start at Hancock Stadium.
While Spack will make a final determination later in the week on Annexstad’s status for Saturday, optimism is not running high.
