BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Western Kentucky (16-4) used an 11-run fourth inning to top Illinois State (9-9), 12-1, in the Holiday Inn Hilltopper Spring Fling championship game on Sunday.
BY THE NUMBERS / KEY INNINGS
- Western Kentucky broke open scoring in the bottom of the third inning, scoring an unearned run on a throwing error by ISU.
- The Hilltoppers scored 11 runs on eight hits and another ISU error in the fourth to hold a commanding 12-0 lead going into the final frame.
- Illinois State battled, as Brittni LaFountaine led off the frame with a single to WKU's third baseman.
