CARBONDALE, Ill. – The Illinois State women's basketball team never gave up despite frigid shooting in the second half, tying Saturday's contest with 3:29 remaining in the game before ultimately falling to Southern Illinois, 43-41, at the Banterra Center.
The Redbirds drop to 10-4 (7-4 MVC) with the loss while the Salukis improve to 6-8 (3-6 MVC).
Junior Lexy Koudelka led the team in scoring for the first time this year, finishing with season-highs in points (13) and rebounds (8), while shooting an efficient 5-of-6 (83.3%) from the floor. Junior Terrion Moore added eight points, four rebounds, two assists and a game-high four steals.
