GRAND FORKS, N.D. – A touchdown pass late in the fourth quarter propelled North Dakota (5-5, 3-4 MVFC) to a 14-7 win over Illinois State (4-6, 2-5 MVFC) Saturday afternoon inside the Alerus Center.
How It Happened:
• The two teams went scoreless in the first quarter, before the Fighting Hawks put the first points of the day on the scoreboard after a Redbird turnover when Tommy Schuster connected with Jacob Richter on a 9-yard touchdown pass to make the score 7-0 with 10:02 left in the half.
• After a scoreless third quarter, the Redbirds tied the game early in the fourth quarter on a 28-yard touchdown pass from Jackson Waring to Brett Spaulding to make it 7-7 with 13:15 left in the contest.
