PEORIA, IL – Junior Carl Valk became the sixth player in Bradley baseball history to hit three home runs in a single game but Illinois State prevailed in the opener at Dozer Park, 6-4, in 10 innings. The Braves are now 18-20 on the season and 10-10 in Missouri Valley Conference, while the Redbirds improve to 22-30 and 12-13 versus league foes.
Valk's three home runs – the first three of his Bradley career – matched the school standard for home runs and total bases in a game, last accomplished by Max Murphy on March 1, 2014 against Dayton.
