NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State baseball team took down Illinois by a 10-1 scoreline on Tuesday at Duffy Bass Field behind a complete team performance.
The Redbirds (11-11 overall, 1-2 MVC) scored the game's first 10 runs as the Fighting Illini's (13-13 overall, 5-1 B1G) lone run came on a ground ball that bounced off of first base and over the head of the ISU first baseman.
Fifth-year senior Colin Wyman provided five scoreless innings to get the win.
The schools had not met since 4/9/2019 due to COVID-19 after playing at least once every year from 1992-2019.
