Illinois State basketball adds high-scoring commitment in Mason Klabo

NORMAL — Mason Klabo knew what he wanted to say. But it was way too predictable to say it to Illinois State basketball coach Ryan Pedon.

“I got Maddox (Pedon) on the phone and told him I want you to repeat after me,” said Klabo, a standout senior guard from Fargo, North Dakota. “I told Maddox to tell him ‘Mason Klabo wants to be a Redbird.’ I could hear Coach Pedon and his wife screaming in the background. It worked out perfectly.”

With that and through the Pedons' 12-year-old son, the 6-foot-2, 180-pound Klabo has committed to sign with ISU.
