MIAMI, Fla. - Illinois State baseball 2019 alum Jeff Lindgren has been called up to the Miami Marlins' Major League team, as revealed Monday afternoon.
It is unclear when Lindgren is expected to make his MLB debut or what his role will be.
Lindgren boasts a 3.75 ERA in 271 minor league innings with 203 in AA (Pensacola Blue Wahoos) and 68 in AAA (Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp). Lindgren has 227 minor league strikeouts and a 1.26 career WHIP.
The Champaign, Ill. native was drafted by Miami in 24th Round in 2019 and is Illinois State head coach Steve Holm's first MLB player as a head coach.
