Elijah Childs and Peter Hanley are teammates on the Bradley basketball team. But their paths to receiving that uniform couldn’t be more different.
Childs, a Kansas City native, was widely recruited and received several Division I offers, most from other schools in the Missouri Valley Conference like Missouri State, Indiana State and Loyola. He also received an offer from nationally ranked Wichita State with the caveat that he attend a year of prep school first.
Childs received the most visibility not from playing at Lee’s Summit West High School, but from his AAU program, Run DMC, which is fully funded by the Under Armour sports apparel company.
