ST. LOUIS – Senior high jumper Kristin Higgins has been named this week's Missouri Valley Conference Female Field Athlete of the Week after winning the high jump at the Ole Miss Classic last weekend.
After ending the indoor season on a high note with a personal-best clearance and an All-Valley performance at the MVC Indoor Track & Field Championships, Higgins continued her success at the first outdoor meet of the year placing first with an outdoor personal best of 1.75 meters (5-8.75 ft.).
Her clearance of 1.75 meters ties for the seventh-best high jump mark cleared in Illinois State outdoor track & field history and leads the Valley by 1 ¾ inches.
